Kelley Connors, MPH, Healthcare Marketing Consultant
KC Healthcare Communications LLC is a strategic healthcare communications firm that helps organizations (and brands) educate, inform, influence and impact patients, consumers, e-patients, caregivers, influencers and agents of change to adopt new ways of thinking for improved public health. We focus on the unique needs of mission-driven organizations focused on evidence-based medicine, new science, healthy aging and doctor-patient communications.
As health communicator, I help health innovators, entrepreneurs, small business owners and non-profit advocacy leaders find, reveal and share their game changing story - to build brand or organizational value and trust. This, in turns, helps them build influence and impact to make a difference in people's lives.
I have worked with Pfizer, Wyeth Ayerst, Pharmacia, Eli Lilly, CommCore Consulting, Euro RSCG Life, AARP Massachusetts, Society for Participatory Medicine, and have 20 years experience in healthcare communications and marketing including a decade of independent consulting with expertise in marketing health and wellness with women. Here is my current resume for your review.
As one example of my work, and in partnership with Pfizer and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, I developed the No Smoking Room to prevent smoking in at-risk tweens. My role was focused on engaging young girls, facilitating interactions with them to gain insights AND educate them on smoking prevention. The live events formed the basis for our creative strategy and website called The No Smoking Room.
As Director of Health Advocacy and Media Relations, for a small Silicon Valley-based consumer health start-up, I have worked with national thought leaders, patient advocates and the media to de-stigmatize pelvic health issues and women's bowel and bladder conditions.
I earned a Masters in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health and was selected to be on the School's Industry Leadership Council. Other areas of education include University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, Massachusetts General Hospital Benson Henry Mind Body Medicine Center. I am a trained health coach and yoga teacher and reside in Boston, Massachusetts.
For over 20 years, I've been active as a volunteer leader within Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA), presiding on the Executive Committee of the HBA's Boston Chapter and a Global Co-Chair of the Digital Innovations Committee
Note: Prior to starting my own consulting business, I was in account management for Euro RSCG Life PR, Sudler & Hennessey/IntraMed and Medicus/DMB&B Advertising. Since then, my clients have included the AARP Massachusetts, CommCore Consulting, Butterfly Health, Marina Maher Communications, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Conceptus and others.
